Both the Range Rover and LX 570 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The LX 570’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Range Rover’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The LX 570 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

For better protection of the passenger compartment, the Range Rover uses safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. It provides extra impact protection and a sturdy mounting location for door hardware and side impact beams. The LX 570 uses a body-on-frame design, which has no frame members above the floor of the vehicle.

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover Td6 gets better fuel mileage than the LX 570 (22 city/28 hwy vs. 12 city/16 hwy).

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover P525 5.0 supercharged V8 (518 HP) gets better fuel mileage than the LX 570 (16 city/21 hwy vs. 12 city/16 hwy).

The Range Rover P400e can drive on battery power alone for up to 31 miles. The LX 570 must run its internal combustion engine to move.

Regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The LX 570 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Range Rover’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The Range Rover’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LX 570’s 50 series tires.

For superior ride and handling, the Land Rover Range Rover has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Lexus LX 570 has a solid rear axle, with a non-independent rear suspension.

The Range Rover V8 has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The LX 570 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Range Rover uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the LX 570, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The LX 570 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

The Land Rover Range Rover may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 to 850 pounds less than the Lexus LX 570.

The Range Rover is 3.1 inches shorter than the LX 570, making the Range Rover easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Unibody construction lowers the Range Rover’s center of gravity significantly without reducing ground clearance. This contributes to better on the road handling and better off-road performance and stability. In addition, unibody construction makes the chassis stiffer, improving handling and reducing squeaks and rattles. The LX 570 uses body-on-frame design instead.

The power windows standard on both the Range Rover and the LX 570 have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Range Rover is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The LX 570 prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Range Rover to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The LX 570 doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Range Rover’s power mirror controls are mounted on the door for easy access. The LX 570’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

The Range Rover’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The LX 570 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
