To maximize occupant safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Cadillac ATS Coupe have pretensioners to eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision. The Toyota Supra doesn’t offer pretensioners.

The ATS Coupe V6’s optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Supra doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The ATS Coupe offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Supra doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the ATS Coupe and the Supra have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

The ATS Coupe comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Supra’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year and 14,000 miles sooner.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the ATS Coupe 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Toyota covers the Supra. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Supra ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The ATS Coupe’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Supra’s (6 vs. 5 years).

An engine control system that can shut down half of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the ATS Coupe V6’s fuel efficiency. The Supra doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The ATS Coupe has 2.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Supra (16 vs. 13.7 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

All wheel drive, available in the ATS Coupe, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Toyota Supra is not available with all wheel drive.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the ATS Coupe can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Supra doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the ATS Coupe offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Supra doesn’t offer cornering lights.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the ATS Coupe has standard extendable sun visors. The Supra doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The ATS Coupe’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Supra’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

On extremely cold winter days, the ATS Coupe’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Supra doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The ATS Coupe’s available GPS navigation system has a real-time traffic update feature that plots alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service not available in all areas.) The Supra’s available navigation system doesn’t offer real-time traffic updates.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Cadillac ATS has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Only the Supra 3.0 Premium/Launch Edition offers wireless charging.

The ATS Coupe offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Supra doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
