Mr. David W. Hult serves as President, Chief Executive Officer, and member of the board of directors. Mr. Hult joined Asbury as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2014. He is responsible for Asbury’s overall strategy and resources. David also is the senior liaison to Asbury’s board, investors and manufacturing relationships. In his role as CEO, he will remain hands-on working with operations leadership in developing strategic policies and programs to drive profitable stable-growth across the company. After serving our country in the US Army, David started his career as a retail sales associate and his success led to rapid advances within the industry. He has been an operator at the General Manager level as well as the regional level for a number of large dealership groups. In addition to his most recent position as Chief Operating Officer at RLJ McLarty Landers, David has extensive experience in multiple aspects of the industry including fixed operations, marketing and all levels of variable operations. His experience includes time with both large private organizations as well as a number of years with public automotive retail companies including Group 1 Automotive and Penske Automotive Group.
Mr. Sean Goodman serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Goodman joined Asbury in July 2017 from Unifi, Inc. (NYSE: UFI) where he was Chief Financial and Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Goodman’s experience includes senior corporate finance and strategy roles at The Home Depot (NYSE: HD) and at Landis + Gyr (SWISS: LAND). Mr. Goodman began his career in public accounting at Deloitte. After graduating from business school he joined the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) in Europe where he was Vice President responsible for providing advisory services to clients in the retail and consumer products sector. Mr. Goodman has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Business Science (hons) from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He is a certified public accountant.
Mr. John S. Hartman serves as Senior Vice President of Operations and has operational oversight for Asbury Automotive Group’s 87 dealerships nationwide. Mr. Hartman has over 30 years of experience in the automotive retail industry and has held almost every position within a dealership including salesperson, service advisor, service manager, finance manager, general sales manager and general manager. He joined Asbury in 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Hartman served as a market director for Group 1 Automotive and was responsible for multiple rooftops in the New England, New York, and Miami markets. Mr. Hartman graduated with a BSBA degree from Boston University. During his career, he was a member of the National Dealer Council for Scion, served on the board of the Massachusetts State Automotive Dealers Association for six years and was also the chair of the organization’s Government Relations Committee.
Mr. George A. Villasana serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Mr. Villasana joined Asbury in April 2012 after holding the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Swisher Hygiene Inc. (NASDAQ: SWSH). Prior to joining Swisher, Mr. Villasana served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Pet DRx Corporation (NASDAQ: VETS), which he helped take public and later sold to VCA Antech, Inc. (NASDAQ: WOOF). Previously, he served as Senior Corporate Counsel at AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN), the nation's largest automotive retailer, for seven years where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, SEC reporting, corporate governance and franchise law matters for the company. Earlier in his career, he was a corporate attorney with Holland & Knight, LLP and Shutts & Bowen, LLP in Miami, Florida, and he began his career as a staff attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. Mr. Villasana holds a LL.M. (Tax) from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, a Master of Accounting from Florida International University and a B.S. in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Jed M. Milstein serves as our Chief Human Resources Officer. Mr. Milstein joined Asbury in July 2016 from Americold where he was Chief Human Resources Officer. His HR experience includes specialist, generalist and shared services roles in public and private companies spanning the retail, third party logistics, data services, healthcare and manufacturing industries. Earlier in his career, Mr. Milstein served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey prior to joining the labor and employment law practice at Carpenter, Bennett and Morrissey in Newark, New Jersey. Mr. Milstein holds a JD from George Washington University Law School and a BBA from the University of Michigan.
