For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Porsche Macan are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Aston Martin DBX doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Macan has standard Multi-collision Brake System, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The DBX doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The Macan has standard Porsche Connect, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The DBX doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Macan and the DBX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

The Macan comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The DBX’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The Macan’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the DBX’s (12 vs. 10 years).

There are over 5 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Macan’s warranty.

The Macan offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DBX doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Macan offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DBX doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Porsche Macan may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 850 pounds less than the Aston Martin DBX.

The Macan is 1 foot, 1.9 inches shorter than the DBX, making the Macan easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Macan uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The DBX doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Macan has a standard rear wiper. The DBX doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Macan offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The DBX doesn’t offer cornering lights.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The DBX doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.
