Nissan’s powertrain warranty covers the 370Z 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Porsche covers the 911. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the 911 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 6 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Porsche dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 370Z’s warranty.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the 370Z’s wheelbase is 3.9 inches longer than on the 911 (100.4 inches vs. 96.5 inches).

The 370Z’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (54.3% to 45.7%) than the 911’s (36.4% to 63.6%). This gives the 370Z more stable handling and braking.

The 370Z is 10.4 inches shorter than the 911, making the 370Z easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the 370Z has an electronically controlled liquid-filled main engine mount. A computer-controlled electric current in the liquid changes its viscosity, allowing the mount to dampen the engine completely at all RPMs. The 911 uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.

The 370Z Sport/Sport Touring/NISMO/50th Anniversary Edition uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The 911 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the 370Z is quieter than the 911 S Coupe:

The 370Z’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Porsche does not offer a locking feature on the 911’s standard power windows.

If the windows are left open on the 370Z the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the 911 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the 370Z has standard extendable sun visors. The 911 doesn’t offer extendable visors.
