For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Mercedes E-Class Coupe have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision. The Infiniti Q60 doesn’t offer pretensioners for the rear seat belts.
For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Mercedes E-Class Coupe are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Infiniti Q60 doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.
The E-Class Coupe’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Q60 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.
Both the E-Class Coupe and the Q60 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all-wheel drive, lane departure warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.
There are over 79 percent more Mercedes dealers than there are Infiniti dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the E-Class Coupe’s warranty.
To reliably power the ignition and other systems and to recharge the battery, the E-Class Coupe has a standard 180-amp alternator. The Q60’s standard 150-amp alternator and largest (Red Sport 400) 170-amp alternator aren’t as powerful.
To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the E-Class Coupe has a standard 850-amp battery. The Q60’s 600-amp battery isn’t as powerful.
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2019 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Mercedes vehicles are better in initial quality than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Mercedes 12th in initial quality. With 7 more problems per 100 vehicles, Infiniti is ranked 19th.
The E-Class Coupe’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 62 more horsepower (362 vs. 300) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (369 vs. 295) than the Q60 3.0t’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The E-Class Coupe’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 19 lbs.-ft. more torque (369 vs. 350) than the Q60 Red Sport 400’s standard 3.0 turbo V6.
On the EPA test cycle the E 450 Coupe RWD gets better highway fuel mileage than the Q60 Red Sport 400 RWD 3.0 twin-turbo V6 (400 HP) (20 city/28 hwy vs. 20 city/27 hwy).
In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Mercedes E-Class Coupe higher (5 out of 10) than the Infiniti Q60 (3). This means the E-Class Coupe produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Q60 every 15,000 miles.
A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Mercedes E-Class Coupe, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Q60.

The E-Class Coupe has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The Q60’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.
The E-Class Coupe has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The E-Class Coupe’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Q60 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.
The E-Class Coupe’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Q60 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the E-Class Coupe is 2 inches wider in the front and 1.2 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Q60.
The E 450 Coupe 4MATIC handles at .90 G’s, while the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
The E-Class Coupe has 3.6 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Q60 (89 vs. 85.4).
The E-Class Coupe has 1.5 inches more front shoulder room, 1.9 inches more rear headroom and 1.7 inches more rear legroom than the Q60.
The E-Class Coupe has a much larger trunk than the Q60 (10 vs. 8.7 cubic feet).
The E-Class Coupe’s standard folding rear seats are split to accommodate bulky cargo. The Q60’s standard single piece folding rear seat is not as flexible; long cargo and a passenger can’t share the rear seat.
To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the E-Class Coupe’s power trunk can be opened or closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Q60 doesn’t offer a power or hands-free opening trunk.
The E-Class Coupe has a maintenance free battery for long life without checking the battery’s water level. The Q60 doesn’t have a maintenance free battery, so the water level in the battery’s cells must be checked often to prevent damage.
Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the Q60 (except Pure), the E-Class Coupe has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.
The E-Class Coupe’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The Q60 doesn’t offer an easy entry system.
The E-Class Coupe offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Q60 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.
The E-Class Coupe’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The Q60’s parking brake has to released manually.
The power windows standard on both the E-Class Coupe and the Q60 have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the E-Class Coupe is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The Q60 prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.
Keyless-Go standard on the E-Class Coupe allows you to unlock the driver’s door, trunk and start the engine all without removing a key from pocket or purse. This eliminates searching for keys before loading groceries, getting in the vehicle in bad weather or making a hurried start to your trip. The Infiniti Q60’s Infiniti Intelligent Key doesn’t unlock the trunk.
The E-Class Coupe’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Q60’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.
Heated windshield washer fluid is standard on the E-Class Coupe to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The Q60 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid.
A power rear sunshade is optional in the E-Class Coupe to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Q60 doesn’t offer a rear sunshade.
Optional air-conditioned seats in the E-Class Coupe keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in summer. The Q60 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.
The E-Class Coupe has a standard center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable. The Q60 doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.
Both the E-Class Coupe and the Q60 offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the E-Class Coupe has standard rear air-conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The Q60 doesn’t offer rear air-conditioning vents, only heat vents.
To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Mercedes E-Class has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Q60 doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
The E-Class Coupe offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Q60 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
The E-Class Coupe’s optional Active Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Q60 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
The Mercedes E-Class comes in coupe, convertible, sedan and station wagon bodystyles; the Infiniti Q60 isn’t available as a convertible, sedan or station wagon.
