To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the AMG GT 4-Door. But it costs extra on the XJ.

Both the AMG GT 4-Door and the XJ have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors, available lane departure warning systems and around view monitors.

The Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door weighs 438 to 867 pounds more than the Jaguar XJ. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.
