The Quattroporte S’ standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 169 more horsepower (424 vs. 255) and 155 lbs.-ft. more torque (428 vs. 273) than the E 350 Sedan’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The Quattroporte S’ 3.0 turbo V6 produces 62 more horsepower (424 vs. 362) and 59 lbs.-ft. more torque (428 vs. 369) than the E 450 4MATIC Sedan’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The Quattroporte GTS’ standard 3.8 turbo V8 produces 161 more horsepower (523 vs. 362) and 155 lbs.-ft. more torque (524 vs. 369) than the E 450 4MATIC Sedan’s standard 3.0 turbo V6.

The Quattroporte has 3.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the E-Class Sedan 300’s standard fuel tank (21 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Quattroporte has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The E-Class Sedan doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

For better traction and acceleration, the Quattroporte has larger standard rear tires than the E-Class Sedan (275/40R19 vs. 245/45R18). The Quattroporte’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the E-Class Sedan (285/35R20 vs. 275/35R19).

The Quattroporte’s standard 275/40R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the E-Class Sedan’s standard 45 series tires. The Quattroporte’s optional 245/35R21 front and 285/30R21 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the E-Class Sedan’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Quattroporte has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the E-Class Sedan. The Quattroporte’s optional 21-inch wheels are larger than the 19-inch wheels optional on the E-Class Sedan.

The Quattroporte has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the E-Class Sedan; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed. Some tire options on the E-Class Sedan don’t have a run-flat feature, either.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Quattroporte’s wheelbase is 9.1 inches longer than on the E-Class Sedan (124.8 inches vs. 115.7 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Quattroporte is 1 inch wider in the front and 1.8 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the E-Class Sedan.

The Quattroporte’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the E-Class Sedan’s (54.2% to 45.8%). This gives the Quattroporte more stable handling and braking.

The front grille of the Quattroporte uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The E-Class Sedan doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the Quattroporte a Large car, while the E-Class Sedan is rated a Mid-size.

The Quattroporte has 16 cubic feet more passenger volume than the E-Class Sedan (114 vs. 98).

The Quattroporte has 1.3 inches more front headroom and 6.5 inches more front shoulder room than the E-Class Sedan.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Quattroporte’s available rear seats recline. The E-Class Sedan’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Quattroporte’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The E-Class Sedan does not have an oil pressure gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Quattroporte has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The E-Class Sedan doesn’t offer headlight washers.

A power rear sunshade and rear side window sunshades are standard in the Quattroporte to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The E-Class Sedan doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Quattroporte has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the E-Class Sedan. The Quattroporte also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the E-Class Sedan.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Quattroporte’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The E-Class Sedan doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Quattroporte has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the E-Class Sedan.
