For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Maserati Quattroporte are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar XF doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Both the Quattroporte and the XF have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Quattroporte has 1.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the XF (21 vs. 19.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Quattroporte has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The XF doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

For better traction and acceleration, the Quattroporte has larger standard rear tires than the XF (275/40R19 vs. 245/45R18). The Quattroporte’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the XF (285/35R20 vs. 255/35R20).

The Quattroporte’s standard 275/40R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the XF’s standard 45 series tires. The Quattroporte’s optional 285/30R21 rear tires have a lower 30 series profile than the XF’s optional 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Quattroporte has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the XF. The Quattroporte’s optional 21-inch wheels are larger than the 20-inch wheels optional on the XF.

The Quattroporte’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The XF doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Quattroporte’s wheelbase is 8.3 inches longer than on the XF (124.8 inches vs. 116.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Quattroporte is 1.2 inches wider in the front and 1.6 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the XF.

The design of the Maserati Quattroporte amounts to more than styling. The Quattroporte has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .28 Cd. That is lower than the XF (.28 to .29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Quattroporte get better fuel mileage.

The front grille of the Quattroporte uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The XF doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the Quattroporte a Large car, while the XF Sedan is rated a Mid-size.

The Quattroporte has 19 cubic feet more passenger volume than the XF (114 vs. 95).

The Quattroporte has 1.5 inches more front headroom, 7.4 inches more front shoulder room and .2 inches more rear headroom than the XF Sedan.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Quattroporte’s available rear seats recline. The XF’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Quattroporte’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The XF does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Quattroporte has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent vandalism, such as sugar in the tank and fuel theft. The XF doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Quattroporte to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the XF.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Quattroporte’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The XF doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Quattroporte has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the XF.

The Quattroporte offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The XF doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
