For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Land Rover Range Rover have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision. The Maserati Levante doesn’t offer pretensioners for the rear seat belts.

Both the Range Rover and Levante have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Levante’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Range Rover’s optional driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Levante doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The Range Rover has standard InControl, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Levante doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Range Rover and the Levante have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height-adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all-wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

There are over 47 percent more Land Rover dealers than there are Maserati dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Range Rover’s warranty.

The Range Rover P400e can drive on battery power alone for up to 31 miles. The Levante must run its internal combustion engine to move.

Regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Levante doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Range Rover Diesel’s standard fuel tank has 1.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the Levante (22.7 vs. 21.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Range Rover’s standard fuel tank has 6.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the Levante (27.6 vs. 21.1 gallons).

The Range Rover offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Levante, it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which limits mileage and speed before replacement.

The Range Rover V8 has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Levante doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Range Rover has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The Levante doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Range Rover is 2.3 inches wider in the front and .9 inches wider in the rear than the track on the Levante.

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover has a 1.9 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Levante (11.6 vs. 9.7 inches), allowing the Range Rover to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The Levante doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Levante, the Range Rover offers an optional passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Range Rover offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Levante doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Range Rover has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent vandalism, such as sugar in the tank and fuel theft. The Levante doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.

Optional air-conditioned front and rear seats keep the Range Rover’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Levante doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Range Rover offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Levante doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Range Rover’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Levante doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
