The K900’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The XF doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Kia K900 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar XF doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The K900 has standard Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The XF doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the K900. But it costs extra on the XF.

Both the K900 and the XF have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Kia K900 weighs 627 to 1072 pounds more than the Jaguar XF. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Kia’s powertrain warranty covers the K900 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Jaguar covers the XF. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the XF ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

There are almost 5 times as many Kia dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the K900’s warranty.

The K900’s 275/40R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the XF’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the K900 has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the XF.

The design of the Kia K900 amounts to more than styling. The K900 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .27 Cd. That is lower than the XF (.28 to .29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the K900 get better fuel mileage.

The front grille of the K900 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The XF doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The K900 has 4 inches more front headroom, 4.2 inches more front legroom, 2.1 inches more front shoulder room, .4 inches more rear headroom and .8 inches more rear shoulder room than the XF Sedan.

The K900 has standard front air conditioned seats and offers them optionally in the rear. This keeps the passengers comfortable and takes the sting out of hot seats in summer. The XF doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The K900 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the XF.
