Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Q60 (except Pure) offers optional Back-up Collision Intervention that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The E-Class Coupe doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

Both the Q60 and the E-Class Coupe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Q60 comes with a full 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The E-Class Coupe’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 10,000 miles sooner.

Infiniti’s powertrain warranty covers the Q60 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the E-Class Coupe. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the E-Class Coupe ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The Q60’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the E-Class Coupe’s (7 vs. 5 years).

Power and Associates’ 2019 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Infiniti vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti 11th in reliability, above the industry average. With 6 more problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes is ranked 13th.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ December 2018 Auto Issue reports that Infiniti vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Infiniti 11 places higher in reliability than Mercedes.

On the EPA test cycle the Q60 3.0t AWD gets better fuel mileage than the E 450 Coupe 4MATIC (19 city/27 hwy vs. 19 city/26 hwy).

The Q60 has 2.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the E-Class Coupe (20 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Q60 has larger standard tires than the E-Class Coupe (255/40R19 vs. 245/45R18). The Q60 Red Sport 400’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the E-Class Coupe (F:255/35R20 & R:275/30R20 vs. F:245/45R18 & R:275/40R18).

The Q60’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the E-Class Coupe 4MATIC’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q60 has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the E-Class Coupe.
