Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The CT6-V has standard Reverse Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The AMG S-Class doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the CT6-V. But it costs extra on the AMG S-Class.

Both the CT6-V and the AMG S-Class have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the CT6-V 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the AMG S-Class. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the AMG S-Class ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The CT6-V’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the AMG S-Class’ (6 vs. 5 years).

There are over 2 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Mercedes dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the CT6-V’s warranty.

The CT6-V has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The AMG S-Class doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

A 10-speed automatic is standard on the Cadillac CT6-V, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a nine-speed automatic is available for the AMG S-Class.

The CT6-V’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the AMG S-Class’ standard 45 series front tires.

The CT6-V has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the AMG S-Class; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed. Some tire options on the AMG S-Class don’t have a run-flat feature, either.

The Cadillac CT6-V may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 500 pounds less than the Mercedes AMG S-Class.

The CT6-V uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The AMG S-Class doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The CT6-V’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The AMG S-Class does not have an oil pressure gauge.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the CT6-V has standard extendable sun visors. The AMG S-Class doesn’t offer extendable visors.
