The X6 M’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The F-Pace doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The X6 M has standard PostCrash iBrake, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The X6 M offers optional Active Park Distance Control that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The F-Pace doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the X6 M helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the X6 M and the F-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras and driver alert monitors.

The BMW X6 M weighs 980 to 1505 pounds more than the Jaguar F-Pace. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The X6 M’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the F-Pace’s (12 vs. 6 years).

There are almost 2 times as many BMW dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the X6 M’s warranty.

For better traction, the X6 M has larger tires than the F-Pace (F:295/35R21 & R:315/35R21 vs. 255/60R18). The X6 M’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the F-Pace (F:295/35R21 & R:315/35R21 vs. F:265/45R21 & R:295/40R21).

The X6 M’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the F-Pace Base’s standard 60 series tires. The X6 M’s optional 295/35R21 front and 315/30R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the F-Pace Prestige/R-Sport/S/Portfolio’s optional 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the X6 M has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the F-Pace Base. The X6 M’s optional 22-inch rear wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels on the F-Pace SVR.

The X6 M has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The F-Pace doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The rear suspension of the X6 M uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the F-Pace, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The X6 M offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Jaguar doesn’t offer an active suspension on the F-Pace.

The X6 M has a standard automatic rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the X6 M’s wheelbase is 3.9 inches longer than on the F-Pace (117 inches vs. 113.1 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the X6 M is 2.3 inches wider in the front and 1.1 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the F-Pace.

For greater off-road capability the X6 M has a 2.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the F-Pace SVR (8.3 vs. 5.9 inches), allowing the X6 M to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The X6 M Competition’s minimum ground clearance is 2.1 inches higher than on the F-Pace (8.4 vs. 6.3 inches).

The front grille of the X6 M uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The F-Pace doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the F-Pace (except Base), the X6 M has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The X6 M’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The F-Pace’s power mirror switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the X6 M to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the F-Pace.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the X6 M has standard extendable sun visors. The F-Pace doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The X6 M has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the F-Pace.

The X6 M offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the F-Pace.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the BMW X6 M has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The F-Pace doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The X6 M’s Parking Assistant Plus can parallel park by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The F-Pace Prestige/R-Sport/S’ automatic parking system requires operating the brakes and transmission to safely park.
