For enhanced safety, the front and middle seat shoulder belts of the Bentley Bentayga have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Maserati Levante doesn’t offer pretensioners for the middle seat belts.

Both the Bentayga and Levante have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Bentayga has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Levante’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Bentayga helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then projects the image on the windshield, near the driver’s line of sight. The Levante doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Bentayga and the Levante have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Bentley Bentayga weighs 480 to 1126 pounds more than the Maserati Levante. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Bentayga comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Levante’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Bentayga’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the Levante’s (unlimited vs. 50,000 miles).

The Bentayga Hybrid can drive on battery power alone for up to 18 miles. The Levante must run its internal combustion engine to move.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders (except Hybrid) helps improve the Bentayga’s fuel efficiency. The Levante doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Bentayga’s standard fuel tank has 1.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the Levante (22.5 vs. 21.1 gallons).

The EPA certifies the Bentley Bentayga at emission levels ranging from “Low Emissions Vehicle” (LEV) to “Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle” (ULEV). The Maserati Levante is only certified to “Low Emissions Vehicle” (LEV) standards.

The Bentayga offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Levante doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Bentayga stops much shorter than the Levante:

For better traction, the Bentayga has larger standard tires than the Levante (275/50R20 vs. 265/50R19). The Bentayga’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Levante (285/45R21 vs. 265/50R19).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Bentayga has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Levante.

The Bentayga has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Levante; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which limits mileage and speed before replacement.

The Bentayga offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Levante doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Bentayga offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Maserati doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Levante.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Bentayga is 2.3 inches wider in the front and .3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Levante.

The Bentayga SPEED handles at .93 G’s, while the Levante pulls only .82 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Bentayga SPEED executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.1 seconds quicker than the Levante (24.6 seconds @ .79 average G’s vs. 26.7 seconds @ .69 average G’s).

The Bentayga has .1 inches more front headroom, 2.9 inches more front shoulder room, 6.3 inches more rear legroom and 1.9 inches more rear shoulder room than the Levante.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Bentayga when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the liftgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The Levante doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Levante, the Bentayga has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Bentayga offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Levante doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Bentayga has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent vandalism, such as sugar in the tank and fuel theft. The Levante doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.

Optional air conditioned the front and second row seats keep the Bentayga’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Levante doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Bentayga offers optional massaging front and second row seats, which keep the driver and middle row passengers. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Levante.

The Bentayga’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Levante doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
