To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Bentayga. But it costs extra on the Escalade ESV.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Bentayga’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Bentayga helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then projects the image on the windshield, near the driver’s line of sight. The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer a night vision system.

For better protection of the passenger compartment, the Bentayga uses safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. It provides extra impact protection and a sturdy mounting location for door hardware and side impact beams. The Escalade ESV uses a body-on-frame design, which has no frame members above the floor of the vehicle.

Both the Bentayga and the Escalade ESV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Bentayga comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Escalade ESV’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the Bentayga have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the engine in the Escalade ESV.

The Bentayga’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 122 more horsepower (542 vs. 420) and 108 lbs.-ft. more torque (568 vs. 460) than the Escalade ESV’s 6.2 V8. The Bentayga W12’s standard 6.0 turbo 12 cyl. produces 180 more horsepower (600 vs. 420) and 204 lbs.-ft. more torque (664 vs. 460) than the Escalade ESV’s 6.2 V8. The Bentayga SPEED’s standard 6.0 turbo 12 cyl. produces 206 more horsepower (626 vs. 420) and 204 lbs.-ft. more torque (664 vs. 460) than the Escalade ESV’s 6.2 V8.

On the EPA test cycle the Bentayga V8 gets better highway fuel mileage than the Escalade ESV 4WD (14 city/23 hwy vs. 14 city/21 hwy).

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Bentayga’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. (Start/Stop isn’t accounted in present EPA fuel mileage tests.) The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Bentayga offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Bentayga’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Escalade ESV’s standard 55 series tires. The Bentayga’s optional tires have a lower 40 series profile than the Escalade ESV’s optional 45 series tires.

For superior ride and handling, the Bentley Bentayga has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Cadillac Escalade ESV has a solid rear axle, with a non-independent rear suspension.

The Bentayga offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Bentayga uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Escalade ESV, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Bentayga offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Cadillac doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Escalade ESV.

The Bentayga SPEED handles at .93 G’s, while the Escalade ESV 4WD pulls only .76 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Bentayga SPEED executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.3 seconds quicker than the Escalade ESV 4WD (24.6 seconds @ .79 average G’s vs. 27.9 seconds @ .63 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Bentayga SPEED’s turning circle is 4 feet tighter than the Escalade ESV’s (39 feet vs. 43 feet). The Bentayga’s turning circle is 2.4 feet tighter than the Escalade ESV’s (40.6 feet vs. 43 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Bentayga has a 1.7 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Escalade ESV (9.7 vs. 8 inches), allowing the Bentayga to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Bentley Bentayga may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 550 pounds less than the Cadillac Escalade ESV.

The Bentayga is 1 foot, 9.9 inches shorter than the Escalade ESV, making the Bentayga easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Unibody construction lowers the Bentayga’s center of gravity significantly without reducing ground clearance. This contributes to better on the road handling and better off-road performance and stability. In addition, unibody construction makes the chassis stiffer, improving handling and reducing squeaks and rattles. The Escalade ESV uses body-on-frame design instead.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Bentayga when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the liftgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

A standard locking glovebox and optional locking center console keeps your small valuables safer in the Bentayga. The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Escalade ESV, the Bentayga has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Bentayga’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The Escalade ESV’s parking brake has to released manually.

The Bentayga’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Escalade ESV’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Bentayga has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Escalade ESV Premium Luxury/Platinum’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Bentayga’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Optional air-conditioned the front and second row seats keep the Bentayga’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Escalade ESV doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats for the second row.
