Both the Bentayga and AMG GLC have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Bentayga has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The AMG GLC’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Bentayga’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The AMG GLC doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Bentayga helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then projects the image on the windshield, near the driver’s line of sight. The AMG GLC doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Bentayga offers an optional Top View to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The AMG GLC only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

To help make backing safer, the Bentayga’s optional cross-path warning system uses wide-angle radar in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The AMG GLC doesn’t offer a cross-path warning system.

Both the Bentayga and the AMG GLC have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes and lane departure warning systems.

The Bentley Bentayga weighs 789 to 1460 pounds more than the Mercedes AMG GLC. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Bentayga has 5.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the AMG GLC (22.5 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The AMG GLC doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the Bentayga has larger standard tires than the AMG GLC (275/50R20 vs. 255/45R20). The Bentayga’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the AMG GLC (285/45R21 vs. 265/45R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Bentayga offers optional 22-inch wheels. The AMG GLC’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The Bentayga has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the AMG GLC, it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed. Some models of the AMG GLC don’t even offer run-flats.

The Bentayga offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The AMG GLC doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Bentayga offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Mercedes doesn’t offer an active suspension on the AMG GLC.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Bentayga’s wheelbase is 4.8 inches longer than on the AMG GLC (117.9 inches vs. 113.1 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Bentayga is 1.1 inches wider in the front and 1.3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the AMG GLC.

The Bentayga SPEED handles at .93 G’s, while the AMG GLC 43 pulls only .91 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Bentayga SPEED executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the AMG GLC 43 (24.6 seconds @ .79 average G’s vs. 25.2 seconds @ .75 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Bentayga SPEED’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the AMG GLC’s (39 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Bentayga has a 3.6 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the AMG GLC 63 (9.7 vs. 6.1 inches), allowing the Bentayga to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Bentayga’s minimum ground clearance is 3 inches higher than on the AMG GLC 43 (9.7 vs. 6.7 inches).
