The Levante has standard Active Headrests, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Headrests system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The AMG GLC 63 doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Levante’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The AMG GLC 63 doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The Levante offers an optional Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The AMG GLC 63 only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

To help make backing safer, the Levante’s optional cross-path warning system uses wide-angle radar in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The AMG GLC 63 doesn’t offer a cross-path warning system.

Both the Levante and the AMG GLC 63 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems and blind spot warning systems.

The Levante’s optional 265/35R22 front and 295/30R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the AMG GLC 63’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Levante offers optional 22-inch wheels. The AMG GLC 63’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Levante has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the AMG GLC 63 only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Levante offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The AMG GLC 63 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

On extremely cold winter days, the Levante’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the vehicle heater warms up. The AMG GLC 63 doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.
