The LX 570’s optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Bentayga doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

For enhanced safety, the front and middle seat shoulder belts of the Lexus LX 570 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Bentley Bentayga doesn’t offer height-adjustable middle seat belts.

The LX 570 has standard Safety Connect®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the LX 570 and the Bentayga have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems and rearview cameras.

The Lexus LX 570 weighs 421 to 736 pounds more than the Bentley Bentayga. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The LX 570 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Bentayga’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

Lexus’ powertrain warranty covers the LX 570 3 years longer than Bentley covers the Bentayga. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Bentayga ends after only 3 years.

The LX 570’s corrosion warranty is 3 years longer than the Bentayga’s (6 vs. 3 years).

There are over 5 times as many Lexus dealers as there are Bentley dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the LX 570’s warranty.

Fuel Economy and Range

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Lexus LX 570 uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The Bentayga requires premium, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon.

The LX 570 has 2.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the Bentayga (24.6 vs. 22.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Environmental Friendliness

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certifies the Lexus LX 570 as an “Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle” (ULEV). The Bentley Bentayga is only certified to “Low Emissions Vehicle” (LEV) standards.

Brakes and Stopping

The LX 570 stops shorter than the Bentayga:

Suspension and Handling

The LX 570’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the Bentayga’s (57.5% to 42.5%). This gives the LX 570 more stable handling and braking.

For better maneuverability, the LX 570’s turning circle is 1.9 feet tighter than the Bentayga’s (38.7 feet vs. 40.6 feet).

Passenger Space

The LX 570 has standard seating for 8 passengers; the Bentayga can only carry up to 7.

Cargo Capacity

The LX 570’s cargo area provides more volume than the Bentayga.

The LX 570’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Bentayga w/Four Seat Comfort Specification doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

The LX 570’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The Bentayga’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

The LX 570’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge – which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Bentayga does not have an oil pressure gauge.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the LX 570 has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Bentayga only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The LX 570 has a 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Lexus LX 570 outsold the Bentley Bentayga by over five to one during 2017.
