Safety

Both the XE SV Project 8 and AMG C 63 Sedan have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The XE SV Project 8 has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The AMG C 63 Sedan’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The XE SV Project 8 has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The AMG C 63 Sedan doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the XE SV Project 8 and the AMG C 63 Sedan have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and driver alert monitors.

Warranty

The XE SV Project 8 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The AMG C 63 Sedan’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year and 10,000 miles sooner.

The XE SV Project 8’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the AMG C 63 Sedan’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the XE SV Project 8 for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the AMG C 63 Sedan.

Engine

The XE SV Project 8’s 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 123 more horsepower (592 vs. 469) and 37 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 479) than the AMG C 63 Sedan’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The XE SV Project 8’s 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 89 more horsepower (592 vs. 503) than the AMG C 63 S Sedan’s standard 4.0 turbo V8.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the XE SV Project 8’s standard brake rotors are larger than those on the AMG C 63 Sedan:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the XE SV Project 8 has larger tires than the AMG C 63 Sedan (F:265/35R20 & R:305/30R20 vs. F:245/40R18 & R:265/40R18).

The XE SV Project 8’s 265/35R20 front and 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the AMG C 63 Sedan’s standard 40 series tires. The XE SV Project 8’s tires are lower profile than the AMG C 63 Sedan’s optional 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the XE SV Project 8 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the AMG C 63 Sedan. The AMG C 63 Sedan’s largest wheels are only 19-inches.

The XE SV Project 8 has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the AMG C 63 Sedan; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the XE SV Project 8 is .8 inches wider in the front and 2.4 inches wider in the rear than on the AMG C 63 Sedan.

Passenger Space

The XE SV Project 8 has 1.2 inches more front headroom, 1.5 inches more front shoulder room and .2 inches more rear headroom than the AMG C 63 Sedan.

Cargo Capacity

The XE SV Project 8 has a much larger trunk than the AMG C 63 Sedan (15.9 vs. 12.6 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

Both the XE SV Project 8 and the AMG C 63 Sedan offer available heated front seats. The XE SV Project 8 also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the AMG C 63 Sedan.
