Safety

Both the Clarity Electric and the Nexo have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems and rearview cameras.

Warranty

There are over 24 percent more Honda dealers than there are Hyundai dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Clarity Electric’s warranty.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Clarity Electric gets better fuel mileage than the Nexo (126 city/103 hwy vs. 65 city/58 hwy MPGe).

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Clarity Electric has larger tires than the Nexo (235/45R18 vs. 225/60R17).

The Clarity Electric’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Nexo’s standard 60 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Clarity Electric has standard 18-inch wheels. Smaller 17-inch wheels are standard on the Nexo.

Passenger Space

The Clarity Electric has .7 inches more front legroom, 1.8 inches more front hip room, 2.5 inches more front shoulder room, 2.1 inches more rear hip room and 1.8 inches more rear shoulder room than the Nexo.

Ergonomics

The Clarity Electric has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Nexo doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Clarity Electric’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Nexo’s passenger windows don’t open or close automatically.

Recommendations

The Honda Clarity outsold the Hyundai Nexo by almost 2522 to one during 2018.
