In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Blazer are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.
The Chevrolet Blazer has Daytime Running Lights to help keep it more visible under all conditions. Canadian government studies show that driving with lights during the day reduces accidents by 11% by making vehicles more conspicuous. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer Daytime Running Lights.
Both the Blazer and the Range Rover Evoque have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.
Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Blazer 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Land Rover covers the Range Rover Evoque. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Range Rover Evoque ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.
There are over 17 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Land Rover dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Blazer’s warranty.
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2018 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are better in initial quality than Land Rover vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet 6th in initial quality, above the industry average. With 78 more problems per 100 vehicles, Land Rover is ranked 31st, below the industry average.

The Blazer’s optional 3.6 DOHC V6 produces 19 more horsepower (305 vs. 286) than the Range Rover Evoque’s optional 2.0 turbo 4 cyl.
An engine control system that can shut down half of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Blazer V6’s fuel efficiency. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.
To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chevrolet Blazer uses regular unleaded gasoline. The Range Rover Evoque requires premium, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon.
The Blazer FWD’s standard fuel tank has 1.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Range Rover Evoque (19.4 vs. 18.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Blazer AWD’s standard fuel tank has 3.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the Range Rover Evoque (21.7 vs. 18.1 gallons).
The Blazer has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.
For better traction, the Blazer RS/Premier’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Range Rover Evoque (265/45R21 vs. 245/45R20).
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Blazer RS/Premier offers optional 21-inch wheels. The Range Rover Evoque’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.
The Chevrolet Blazer’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.
The Blazer has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Blazer’s wheelbase is 8 inches longer than on the Range Rover Evoque (112.7 inches vs. 104.7 inches).
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Blazer is 2.6 inches wider in the front and 2.1 inches wider in the rear than on the Range Rover Evoque.
The front grille of the Blazer uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer active grille shutters.
The Blazer uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.
The Blazer has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Range Rover Evoque 5-Door with its rear seat up (30.5 vs. 20.3 cubic feet). The Blazer has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Range Rover Evoque 5-Door with its rear seat folded (64.2 vs. 51 cubic feet).
Pressing a switch automatically lowers the Blazer’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.
Maximum trailer towing in the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is limited to 3968 pounds. The Blazer offers up to a 4500 lbs. towing capacity.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Blazer has a standard rear wiper. The Range Rover Evoque Convertible doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
The Blazer (except L) offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
The Blazer is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Range Rover Evoque doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
