Both the 4C and the AMG C 63 Cabriolet have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the 4C gets better fuel mileage than the AMG C 63 Cabriolet (24 city/34 hwy vs. 17 city/24 hwy).

The 4C has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The AMG C 63 Cabriolet doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Brakes and Stopping

The 4C stops much shorter than the AMG C 63 Cabriolet:

Car and Driver

The Alfa Romeo 4C may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1750 to 1800 pounds less than the Mercedes AMG C 63 Cabriolet.

The 4C is 2 feet, 6.1 inches shorter than the AMG C 63 Cabriolet, making the 4C easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 4C is 8.6 inches shorter in height than the AMG C 63 Cabriolet, making the 4C much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The 4C was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2015. The AMG C 63 Cabriolet has never been an “All Star.”
