Both the 4C and the Vantage have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rear parking sensors.

The 4C comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Vantage’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

There are almost 5 times as many Alfa Romeo dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 4C’s warranty.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the 4C gets better fuel mileage than the Vantage (24 city/34 hwy vs. 18 city/25 hwy).

The 4C has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Vantage doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The 4C offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Vantage doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Alfa Romeo 4C may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 900 pounds less than the Aston Martin Vantage.

The 4C is 1 foot, 6.8 inches shorter than the Vantage, making the 4C easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 4C was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2015. The Vantage has never been an “All Star.”
